What can I really say about a baby that’s only 4 days old and sleeps THIS well? There are babies who are “O.K. sleepers”, there are the “really good sleepers”…and then there’s Baby J, who was awake when I arrived & promptly fell asleep. She woke up sometimes hours later, towards the end to say goodbye (and to wonder about all the tulle!). She slept as if she were on a beach on vacation. She was put in bowls, cuddled in blankets, laid out on platters, she was redressed, re-primped (is that even a word?), and finally fluffed & tutu’ed. And still she slept on.
Besides being a great sleeper (ok, sorry…last time, I was in awe!), She is just beautiful, with the most delicate little baby parts & pieces.
I’m not going to say newborn sessions are easy, or that I have the magic touch, because these sessions tend to go looooong! Even with sleeping beauty, I worked for hours. But if you’re considering it, I’d say the time put in is well worth it for the memories you’ll cherish when they’re long past the stage of sleeping this peacefully & fitting into the crook of your arm.
