In just a few minutes, I am heading out to do my first photos at a local daycare. I’m so excited, and also nervous. I’m doing a holiday setup that I hope comes out really well!
Have I ever done a holiday setup? Well, not really! But did I work my butt off practicing my technique until it turned out nice, well, I think I did! I usually don’t use the backdrop, as I’m on location – or the studio lights, but I know how to set them up & go with the flow of things when duty calls. Overall, I love the look we turned out with.
My practice subject is most often Donovan, and while he hates it, I still love the time we spend together & the questions that he asks are so insightful. Last week, I practiced my holiday photos with him. And while they started out all wrong, in the end I hope the children & parents are going to enjoy these – I enjoy the practice shots I did of him in the blue, and eventually I threw him in some holiday wear & will use these for my Christmas cards!
