Anyone who knows me knows that it might not be the best idea to go shopping with me. I absolutely LOVE styling other people…me – not so much. Because of that, I’m usually the one people ask to go shopping with them, or help them pick out clothes for a certain occasion. For myself, I tend to do more *piece shopping*. It’s rare that I’ll actually go out and buy a complete outfit. As a piece shopper, I look for things to integrate into my wardrobe and that work with what I already have. Usually I can be heard saying “I love the necklace from H&M, the Boots from Target, the skirt we saw at F21, and the funky lipstick that we saw at Sephora….it would look so great with my purse with the tassles!”.
So, this morning, I was feeling rather fall-ish. It’s cool out, and it’s time to start transitioning my wardrobe to fall. How does one transition in the land of “when is fall getting here?”. Well, you put on jeans…then dress as usual up top! LOL. Fall around here is usually still in the 80s…unless it’s unseasonably cool (which is the 70s). Mornings & evenings are chilly, but during the day, you can get away without sleeves. The outfit I created above on Polyvore (love love love!) is perfect for a fall day, and as a personal challenge – EVERYTHING came from the same store – Target!
Why are there two pairs of shoes? Well, I’m indecisive, and to leave one of those out as an option just felt wrong!
This outfit is NOT from Target, but it’s totally something you’d see me in. Yes, it’s a little funky, the turban is questionable, but I love it all the same. The green shirt from Anthropologie is truly lust-worthy…and the cost will keep it firmly in that category! It’s a cropped sweatshirt…and it’s $118. It’s one of those pieces I love, but the cost/benefits analysis of paying that much for it just doesn’t add up for me. The other pieces are from all over.
Finally, yes, that’s stripes & animal print. It’s quirky, but it’s me.
